BreakView provides workshops that create learning through dynamic discussions, guided practice, and the strategic use of assessment of learning. All participants receive an 80 page workbook for easy reference. In addition, the format conveys the course information through discussions, guided role play, and several audio-visual segments. From start to finish, the focus is on developing a personal action plan in order to solidify your commitment to sensitive practice by putting theory into practice. This proven format maximizes both the amount learned and the likelihood that you will successfully apply the course content. The training session is divided into three parts, Awareness, Analysis and Action. The Awareness and Analysis sections will help you uncover unconscious insensitivity. Self-awareness, through guided reflection, is an important step in developing your own social and emotionally intelligent practice. No one enters the work force as a blank slate. You have your own perspective, attitudes and biases, colored by life experiences and your membership in many different groups. Yet, in a free and democratic society, no one has the right to tell you what to think. However, because your views will affect your interaction with clients and coworkers, it is important to bring them into conscious awareness. The goal of the introspective process is to aid participants in working with “others” outside their comfort zone. The Action section provides participants with tools to communicate effectively in a supportive and sensitive manner in order to deliver the highest service possible. At the close of the workshop, the facilitator will guide you in developing aPersonal Action Plan. An Action Plan is a list of tasks that you have to carry out to achieve an objective. It differs from a To Do List in that it focuses on the achievement of a single goal. Wherever and whenever you want to achieve something, draw up an action plan. This allows you to concentrate on the stages of that achievement, and monitor your progress towards it. LOCATION:
